Learn, Spray, Love

Since I've been going along this whole three word title, see below for what it all means.

Learn:  Never knew that Ragnar was who he was.  Should have done more investigation besides just watching the series.  Read some more at Little Lead Heroes.

Spray:  Really loved relearning this basic technique from Faeit 212.

Love:  I've always held a special place for ACW and Baron's Blog definitely is just another great discussion of wonderful miniatures and a cool game.

OOOs, AAAHs, and UMMs

The OOOs come from Khurasan Miniatures seen here. These dudes look cruel but at only 15mm it's a tough buy for me.  Still love their weapons!


The AAAHs come from The Dark Templar working on painting Roman Armor here.


The UMMs come from GW's plan to make something between dumb and dumber here.  I still think that terminators were the next biggest thing after dreads.  What happened?

Interesting posts across the forums I watch

The biggest was a wonderful post on painting wolves.  Something I might need if I'm to join the ranks of Space Wolves in a few years.James Wappel on Wolves
Little Lead Heroes had a few great pictures on the battles from Historicon 2013.  Very interesting stuff.

The next is a pretty interesting read from Massive Voodoo about an older gentlemen with a penchant for using new mediums.

Blood Dragon Vampire Count

Wee! Once you get going you can't stop. Enjoyed finishing this model today. Even though I'm not 100% enjoying the gold NMM but he's good enough to bloody someone on the tabletop. I'll just need to finish grassing and clear coat him just like the other. The count(pun intended) is two and I've got nine more to go.  I almost forgot to post the guy who actually has the NMM turn out a lot better than mine: NMM gold tutorial .

VC Strigoi Vampire Test Model

I'm a big fan of how the shadow gray, snot green, and dead flesh came out with the highlight to the bleached bone. The eyes and face I wanted to focus on with the red/orange.

I'm happy knowing the models in the background will receive the same treatment. Their armor will look similar to the Grave Guard with a few golden highlights or filigrees.

Updating the VC GG

It has been such a long time I had to add this to the blog to ensure I kept up and showed progress. I'll finish these by completing the blue "magical" bits, painting a wash on all the bright colors, glue grass, and then spray a seal before I add them to the force.
